The Brick House is a spacious two bedroom rental apartment on Carlisle Bay, near Bridgetown, St. Michael.
This spacious two bedroom rental apartment is part of a two-story, beachfront building which is sensibly designed, tastefully decorated, and convenient to both Bridgetown and south coast activity. Guests of this South coast home can choose to relax on the patio for a panoramic sea view, or down in the fenced garden, shaded by trees. The garden has a bar area and outdoor male/female bathroom facilities making it suitable for holding events for up to 80 people. There is also an elevated gazebo and next to The BRick House is ample parking. In addition, this St. Michael property is secure and there is an intercom system.
Just outside, Brown’s Beach/Carlisle Bay presents a mile-long expanse of powdery white sand, with calm waters suitable for long swims, a leisurely snorkel, or a beach walk. It’s the only south coast beach with calm, west coast conditions and is one of the best beaches for observing or interacting with local life—but is rarely crowded. Choose solitude, people nearby, or a beach bar. Late afternoon is a great time to watch people of all ages taking their exercise in various spots, whether it’s paddle ball, acrobatics, boxing in the gazebo, or congenial old folks having a sea bath. In the early morning at the Bridgetown end, you can sometimes see racehorses being swum out for conditioning.
Snorkelling and scuba diving are virtually at your doorstep, and the marine park with its 6 wrecks in close proximity is an excellent site for divers of all levels of experience. Sailing, kayaking, and SUP (stand up paddle boarding) are other available options.
It’s a 15 minute walk from here to bustling Bridgetown, and about the same distance to the Garrison Historic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where there are fine colonial buildings, a walking track, horseracing every other Saturday, and three excellent museums. These are George Washington House (Yes, he stayed here,) the Barbados Museum (for general knowledge of the place,) and the most complete collection of old British cannon in the Armoury. A bit farther down, in Hastings, the boardwalk is a refreshing place to walk beside the splashing sea. It’s also short hop to nightlife in St. Lawrence Gap. Bus stops towards Oistins in the south or Speightstown in the north are very close. The Radisson and Hilton Hotels, as well as a number of daytime eateries, are in walking distance.
Why this property?
It is convenient, safe, and beautiful. The owner has thought of everything. Nature provides the rest.
Unique benefits
Excellent for those who love both beach life and heritage, in a location that makes it easy to go do other things too.
